Visitors from certain countries may need a visa to enter Brazil for short stays, usually up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes. Travelers from the United States, Canada, Australia, India, China, and several countries in Africa and the Middle East are required to obtain a visa in advance. If you need an invitation letter to support your visa application, please contact humorstudies@midia.uff.br. Invitation letters are issued only to participants with either an accepted ISHS 2026 submission or a completed conference registration.

Vaccination

No vaccinations are required to enter Brazil. However, if you plan to visit other regions than the state of Rio de Janeiro, be aware that vaccination is recommended for some regions before visiting, especially in rural or forest areas. Check for more information before traveling, taking into account the region you are going to.

Covid-19

Foreign tourists can enter Brazil without proof of a Covid test or proof of vaccination.
